We are producing an American Film Institute (AFI) Thesis short film scheduled to shoot February 3, 2022-Feb 7 2022 in Los Angeles and are looking for a production designer to join our team. Our film is a single-location suspense genre film that will shoot on-location. We're looking for someone who take the location and design from it, the story we are excited to tell. Given the genre, there is a lot of opportunity to have fun with this one; to layer in visual clues, motifs and create an atmosphere rich with tension. As production designer, you will have your own budget in addition to your compensation as well as an art director or set dresser to assist. This project already has a script (will be provided upon serious applications) and references; we are eager to incorporate a production designer's leadership and vision into the visual storytelling.Candidates are expected to:- Be on set for the 5 shoot days- Meet at various points throughout the 8 weeks leading up to the project- Work independently on the production design elements, floor plans, sourcing, etc...- Love film, story and collaborationThe production designer will work closely with the director and cinematographer and truly be part of this collaborative and fun team.
