Our Media Website is seeking a Social Media Editor for the launch of its new Black family-focused brand.This new brand will celebrate and support Black parenthood and amplify Black joy. It will speak directly and authentically to the needs of Black parents through flat content, video, social, and a weekly newsletter to build community and better-serve our existing audience of Black parents and help build a new audience of loyalists. Authentic representation is essential—the content by Black creators will cover topics like ancestry, child development, the social and emotional needs of Black children, news, lifestyle, and more. We will also share personal essays and experiences from a wide range of voices.The Social Media Editor will work closely with our digital edit team to execute day-to-day posting on all social platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Instagram Stories, and TikTok. We’re a small team, so our ideal candidate is someone who is obsessed with social media, understands how to create engaging content for each platform, and is detail-oriented and incredibly organized.Our ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter and experienced social media editor with an interest in content for Black families. Previous experience reaching and engaging a Millennial and Gen Z audience a plus.II.
