    Have an eye for detail? Interested in working on creative costumes and accessories? Costume Techs work on existing costumes and pieces by repairing and replacing them.Costume Techs at Universal Orlando are responsible for:-Maintaining costumes by repairing, rehabbing, recreating, and replacing character heads, hands, feet, and accessories on site.-Troubleshooting character/costume problems, on location analysis. Determining, with input as needed, whether problem can be resolved on location or needs to be transferred to Skin Shop. Performing duties on the floor such as assisting with presets, costume preparation, and assist where needed. -Fitting new and existing performers and make costume adjustments per supervisory authorization.-Tracking and reporting material and repair successes or failures to supervisor weekly.-Assisting with setting up and implementing procedures for new shows and characters to facilitate the daily maintenance.-Assisting in cleanliness and organization of the work areas and performs accurate logging of daily work product.-Performing other duties as assigned.-Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.Requirements To perform the role of a Costume Tech successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.-Consistent attendance is a job requirement.-Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. -Ability to write simple correspondence. -Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.-Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. -Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. -Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. -Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. -Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.-Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. -Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.High school diploma or equivalent, Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical schoolKnowledge of character head/part repair, re-covering with fabric, fur and foam, re-painting both with hand painting and air brush techniques, cleaning, patching and sanding plastic parts, paint color matching, work with harnesses and aluminum repairs and neat precise finishing work; knowledge of paint types, glues and repair mediums and materials; working knowledge of design and costume construction with sculpting, mold making, vacuforming, foam carving and plastics work; fitting, doing alterations and trouble shooting for performer comfort and knowledge of handling and disposing of hazardous materials required. one to three years professional experience working in this field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience Please mention Stage Jobs Pro in your application.
