Temporary Staff Mixer

Temporary Staff Mixer

  • Project Details
We have a high-volume project coming up that requires two dedicated audio post-production mixers, starting August 31st, 2022 and running through December 9th, 2022.
Note: there will be two weeks dark, from October 10th-21st. These are temporary, project-based staff positions, paid as W2 employees, and will be eligible for company benefits from September through December.

These positions may be done remotely or locally from our NYC studio (if remote, the engineer must be US- based). Engineers must work in Pro Tools.

Each engineer will be responsible for 50-60 episodes of mixing over the duration of their time on the project (5/week for each engineer). These are found-footage, formulaic shows, and the turnaround will be quick – it’s a let-the-template-do-as-much-as-possible type of project. The right people for this project will be able to work efficiently, and successfully execute the same workflow over and over.

We expect the first 1-2 weeks of the project will involve a fair amount of collaborative work (with each other, a Gramercy Post senior engineer, and the client) on honing the template, workflow, and aesthetic of the show. After this settling-in period, each engineer will work largely independently, with each episode taking about a half-day to mix, an hour allotted for notes, an hour for delivery, and an hour for client communication and file management/archiving. Engineers must be available and responsive via email and Slack during standard business hours (10am-6pm Eastern time zone).

    Requirements:
    - 2+ years in a Pro Tools mixing environment
    - Experience and familiarity with broadcast mixing standards
    - Professional, prompt communication with clients, management, and coworkers
    - High-level file management and organization, including keeping track of multiple episodes at a time
and archiving materials as episodes are completed

Rate: $400/day from 08/31-09/02, and $2000/week from 09/06 to 12/09 (not including the two dark weeks), plus a $1,500 bonus on completion of the first 30 episodes, an additional $2,500 bonus on completion of 50 episodes, and an additional $100/episode bonus for each episode past 50. (We really want people who will stick with us for the duration of the project!)

We will be moving quickly to hire for these positions and will respond to qualified candidates as they apply. Please do not call or visit the studio to check on the status of your application.
