BuzzFeed Video is looking for a detail-oriented freelance Video Adaptations Editor who is interested in vertical video production to join our social team in Los Angeles, CA. This person will work with the team to edit short-form, adapted & licensed content for our social stories and emerging vertical platforms. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to juggle multiple projects at once.This is a 40-hour/week, three-month contract, with the potential to extend to a full year. You will:Adapt widescreen content for Vertical Video (approx 8-10 videos/week) and reframe various media for different social platformsMaintain regular communication with producers and the post-production team to coordinate timely delivery of videos, project files, etc.Quickly iterate off of successful/trending contentImplement feedback from the Lead Social Editor in a timely mannerWork with the Publishing Team to grow our Snapchat discover channelsYou have:2+ years experience in post-productionProficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and strong working skills in After Effects, Illustrator, and PhotoshopStrong comfort level with most video codecs and formatsInterest in social platforms and data and a desire to explore vertical video contentGreat communication skills and the ability to give and receive critical feedback in a small team environmentThe ability to be meticulous, technical, organized, and creative at the same timeA strong understanding of server-based workflowThe ability to work independently and/or under close directionExperience in deadline-driven environments and internet videoMotion Graphics experience is a plusA positive, team-oriented attitude (No haters!)
