    This internship for Orchestra Manager is ideal for a young professional that would like to experience closely the inner workings of a busy orchestra and work with experienced conductors and young talented musicians. An interest in conducting and/or management of an orchestra can be rewarded with new contacts and an enriching experience. This insternship is thought for someone who wanst to further their experience in the field of music festivals.The main responsibilities include:working closely with the music director and the guest conductors, including gathering information on pit plots and orchestra rostersprepare the rehearsal room/stage or pit for each rehearsal or performance using the appropriate pit plot, and placing the appropriate number of chairs, stands and lights as neededinsure every orchestra member is present to start the service and that the conductor can arriva and start on time - including assisting with transportation if neededmove and set up the larger instruments and stands to the concert's locationassist as needed with any chamber music needs working with the Chamber Music Managerbeing the first point of contact for orchestra members regarding any arising issues, trying to solve any problems before escalatinginsuring orchestra members and conductors are aware of time and place of their next servicereport to the Festival Office on a regular basisRequirements:Good knowledge of English, including musical terms and instruments, essentialEuropean or international driving license and a clean driving recordability to read a pit plot and understand orchestra members' and conductors' needsSpirit of initiative, enthusiasm, flexibility and ability to adapt in a sometimes hectic working situationAbility to work under pressure and multitask working with sometimes demanding personalitiesWillingness to work hard also physically, and ability to use caution and care while moving delicate instrumentsEnough computer knowledge to use email, send reports, read and prepare excel documents etcAn interest for classical music and/or conducting and/or orchestra management will be an advantage, as will be a familiarity with the classical and operatic repertoireSome knowledge of Italian would help but is not essentialThis is a summer internship that lasts 5 weeks, during which work will be full time, including some evening and weekend work, according to rehearsal and performance schedule.This insternships requires arrival in Italy on 1st July and departure on 5th August.The internship location is Mezzano di Primiero (TN), Italy, about two hours north of Venice. This is a no-pay internship, but it includes housing in a shared apartment with full kitchen, and a shuttle bus on arrival and departure days from and to VCE airport. The Festival Office is also working to provide at least some travel reimbursement, which will be discussed with the candidates.Music Academy International offers training programs of the highest quality in Europe and the Unites States, and gives its participants incredible performance opportunities. Based in the Primiero Valley at the feet of the Dolomites, this summer festival gives over 30 performance opportunities from orchestra concerts to musical theatre, from opera to chamber music and voice recitals.
