13WMAZ is currently accepting applications for a full-time DIRECTOR to direct and technical direct local newscasts for television. The Director will also perform duties at master control. The nature of live broadcasting means the successful candidate must be able to work under deadline pressure and effectively handle changes during a live show or newscast. 
 
Responsibilities include:
* Direct and TD newscasts, local programming and pre-production
* Operate Sony switcher and equipment necessary to direct and TD newscasts
* Execute clean newscasts while meeting goals established by management
* Meet with show producer for every show, review needs and work with team to execute particular elements
* Run audio, studio cameras as needed
* Operate master control automation, prepping video content and monitoring on-air signals.  The responsibility involves interpreting program logs, managing playlists and switching program events and commercial breaks. 
* Shoot video in the field and edit video/audio elements as needed

JOB REQUIREMENTS
 
Requirements
* At least one year of experience working on live multi-camera television productions or related experience
* Must be able to demonstrate quality production values, a strong command of video switcher operation and the proven ability to lead a team through live productions
* Must be able to perform under tight deadlines and excel under the demands of live television
* Must be willing to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays
* Successful candidates will have a strong interest in local news and a strong interest in serving the community during breaking news and weather events
Education background in media is a plus.
