Project DetailsThe Head of Compilations is responsible for managing the Ministry of Sound compilation team (both Curation and Marketing) and working alongside the Director of Compilations to develop a strategy for that part of the business - including products, playlists and socials.
Responsibilities
To manage the team and implement the creative and strategic direction presented by the Director of Compilations
To manage the personnel within the team (as outlined above) to ensure they are productive, creative and effective within their roles. This requires reviews, objective setting, developing training programmes, regular feedback and being actively involved in challenging their campaigns etc.
To Implement strategy, creative direction and schedule
To manage and oversee all media and marketing spends with final sign off from director of compilations
To ensure all timelines are met and creative quality is kept at the highest standard
To manage & direct the development of imaginative, aggressive, commercial and effective marketing campaigns from the marketing team
To be aware of the company’s turnover and P&L targets and to work with the rest of the senior management to meet these targets for the team.
To ensure the marketing expenditure of the projects under their supervision/control strictly adhere to the pre-agreed budgets. These budgets are to be agreed with finance in advance of issuing them to the department.
To maximise the development and sales potential of any compilation
To participate in the forecasting process in association with finance
To liaise with sales to set sell-in targets on albums
To build sound working relationships both internally and externally with production companies
To evaluate and analyse the effectiveness of the marketing campaigns and to feedback on the success to the director and the team.
To be aware of changes and happenings in the market, with particular emphasis on the industry, competitors, innovation, new formats and campaigns.
To strategize “best practises” for areas of innovation in the business whether it be playlists, albums, content creation, albums creatives or social postings
Must have a very good understanding of the mass market consumer, compilations and playlists
Person Specifications
Essential
Measurable success in compilations/ playlists within music industry
Significant Catalogue / product marketing experience, currently at senior manager level or manager level with a view to stepping up
Strong people management skills
Creative and strategic thinker
