Year Qualification Where 2009 Technical Theater Slippery Rock University
I, like a lot of theater professionals, started in theater at a young age. As years progressed the love of the art that was instilled in me grew to the point that I knew I wanted to pursue it as a profession. This led me to attending Slippery Rock University and receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Theater.
While at Slippery Rock I worked on productions both inside and outside the department in many different capacities. My hard work and dedication to the craft, led me to working professionally with Unseam’d Shakespeare Co.
Since 2009, I have had the privilege of working at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center. While working there I sharpened the skills I developed working as a student throughout college, as well as learned new aspects of how professional theater is produced. Although most of my experience is in stage management, I have had experiences in many technical theater fields. Upon being hired full time at LPPAC, I was given more responsibilities in the field of Production Management. Some responsibilities included creating and managing the production department budget, managing budgets for a nine-to-ten performance season, acquiring and contracting designers and staff, creating and maintaining the season calendar, and coordinating events for outside companies. I interviewed and hired the staff for our off-site construction center, managed set rentals, and taught three separate technical theatre courses to students of Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School. These experiences and responsibilities have led me to become quick on my feet, lead my staff, and able to handle multiple roles in this very fast paced industry.
