About me
I graduated from Liverpool Institute of Preforming Arts in 2009, with a degree in Theatre and Performance design. Within my course I explored many fields of design for performance including, Set, Costume, lighting and props design.Throughout my studies I worked on various projects with local theatre and film companies based in Liverpool. My passion quickly grew from set to costumes design, especially for dance.
From graduating I went on to freelance in London, working primary as a costume designer for Dance.
I am very interesting in how clothing can make you become a character and also enhance the movement of the body when used for dance.
I like to draw my inspiration from art, movement and to conceptualise the costumes to give greater meaning and understanding for the audience and the performer wearing them.
I used my skills for further my career as a Visual and Store design manager for a UK based luxury fashion brand. I have decided to move back in to the costume design field and explore my passion again.
Additional skills:
I have worked in visual merchandising and store design management for the past six years, where my design skills have have taken on new direction.
Within this timeframe I have been mostly styling, working on window and in-store design presentation, designing store environments from build to the interiors.
This experience has also provided me with the following skills,
-Working on projects to budgets and time restrictions
-Managing team members, guiding them through training and mentoring
-Computer admin, proficient in microsoft office and Above creative suites
- Working progress of Auto CAD
-Working with different cultures globally
