About me
Much of my background helms from crew experience in film, however I am also a stage director and founded my own small theater company in NYC after graduating NYU. NRG performed all over Manhatten and ended with a well-received production of THE HOBBYWOOD CANTEEN, based on F. Scott Fitzgeral's Hobbywood stories and set on a soundstage. More recently, I directed a gothic version of A Christmas Carol. 25 actors. 9 projections. 18 set changes. An original live silent-movie style score. Steam-punk Victorian costumes. It was epic and deemed a success. Autumn of 2017, I directed Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, which was very well-received. Next up is a grand and elaborate large-scale stage version of FRANKENSTEIN as well as a theatrical tryptych titled GRIM. I am also en route to funding and directing two feature films; CLARE, a modern-day murder mystery revolving around a family of witches living in San Francisco and AMONG THE WONDERFUL, a vintage circus tale. A sitcom too, THE VIBE, set in a occult shop, is in active development. On back burners are a documentary on mentall illness, a Buster Keaton bio-pic and an endeavor revolving around Edward Gorey's delightful vignettes.I am skilled at communicating a creative vision to a vast array of individuals and also come with a large potent network of contacts in the industry. My family hails from the movie business (both parents were nominated for Academy awards), which adds more to my roster. I have been employed in a variety of departments in the industry, making me well-rounded. I can wear many hats and am not afraid of getting my hands dirty. I function well with deadlines, have a knack for detail, am energetic and able to interact with a wide variety of people. Visionary and committed. Imaginative yet realistic. A great team player, but can work independently. Computer savvy, trustworthy, a quick study, adaptable, and motivated, as well as extremely good at organizing.
I have many still images, which depict various elements of my directing work, if you are intrigued.
I am versatile, though my main creative bent leans towards dark comedy, conversational, intense, surreal, macabre, wise, beautiful, sensual, ironic tones. Fantastical, yet real and relate-able.
