TV Show directory - Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones (also known as GoT) is an American medieval-style fantasy television series created by David Benioff and Dan Weiss for HBO. The series, based on author George R. R. Martin's best-selling 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series of novels, chronicles the violent dynastic struggles among noble families for control of the Iron Throne of Westeros.

The show ran for 8 seasons on HBO and was hailed by many as the greatest TV show ever made. The show has on countless awards, including more than 55 Emmy awards.

There was a lot of speculation as the series entered it final season as Martin is yet to finish the literary version of the story, meaning the screenwriters were free to take the story in any direction they saw fit.

The immensely popular show made stars of its relatively unknown cast, a lot of whom were British, including actors such as:

  • Emelia Clarke

  • Maisie Williams

  • Sophie Turner

  • Kit Harrington

  • Iwan Rheon

  • Alfie Allen

  • Rose Leslie

The show was shot all around the world, with George R. R. Martin requesting certain regions be filmed in certain locales if actors of that nationality, for example:
- Ireland
- Spain
- Morocco

Countless cast & crew on Mandy worked on the show. With up to four GoT spin offs currently rumoured to be in the works, there will be more Game Of Thrones jobs than ever before.
