The Old Blue Last is an established pub/music venue situated on the Junction of Curtain Road/Great Eastern Street in Shoreditch, East London with Bands/Djs every night of the week. It is also soon to be used for Saturday matinee performances at 3.00 pm by resident theatre company - The Shakespeare in Shoreditch Ensemble for Lights of London Productions - due to its historical interest as it is almost directly on the site of the original Curtain Theatre - Englands second playhouse - originally home to many Shakespearian productions. There is a tiny compact theatre performance space upstairs seating about 40 plus standing capacity making it possible to transform the space into a studio theatre with basic technical enhancements. There is an urban atmospheric bar downstairs. This venue is close to Brick Lane - curry capital of the world. The back streets of Shoreditch are a fascinating fusion of history and the contemporary arts/music/fashion scene. Voted by NME as 'the coolest pub in the world' and voted by the Evening Standard as the best pub in london for music. Now in association with Lights of London productions also drawing in a fringe theatre crowd on Saturday afternoons.
