The Old Rep Theatre Birmingham was the first Theatre in England to be specifically designed for repertory. From 1913-1971 the theatre was home to Birmingham Repertory Company, led by Sir Barry Jackson, who staged numerous prestigious productions, many of which have been landmarks in theatre history. The Old Rep is now home to Birmingham Stage Company, local Amateur Companies and 'New Stages at the Old Rep', innovative theatre for young people.
