The Orange Tree Theatre – an actors’ theatre – is committed to making live theatre accessible, produced to a consistently high standard. The theatre remains committed to encouraging new and ‘undiscovered’ writing from the UK and abroad, priced reasonably and developed in the round. The theatre is also committed to working as a community, education and training resource, with outreach into the local community and beyond intended to bring theatre to people who might not otherwise engage with it.
Our intimate 172-seat theatre-in-the-round creates a powerful intimacy between audience and performer, which is a truly shared experience. With three rows on the ‘lower’ level and one on the ‘upper’, no seat has a restricted view. All seating is unreserved, and every production is in-the-round.
The bar is open 45 minutes before each performance.
We have also been providing a range of valuable community and education projects in Richmond and the local boroughs for over 30 years, with an estimated 20,000 participants every year.
Details of our education projects can be found via our website under Education.
