The So and So Arts Club

  • About
Our aim is to pool the talent and resources of actors, writers, directors, designers, musicians, artists and producers and through our networking and club events to offer support, to open doors, to create possibilities.

Last year we staged ten rehearsed readings at Samuel French Bookshop. We produced a month long repertory season of four new plays sponsored by the Arts Council, all directed by and starring club members. Each play was originally developed as part of the ongoing rehearsed reading program. In August there was a full scale production of the wonderful Irish Farce,"Last Confessions of a Scallywag" that featured as part of our "Kick up the Arts" festival in 2012. This year we have moved to a beautiful new headquarters at 6 Fredericks Place in the City. We will be producing another ten paid rehearsed readings of new work and a new Musical Theatre writing festival in association with Lost Theatre in April. We are proud to announce a new mentoring scheme that launches in April.

We intend to continue our program of generating paid work for as many people as possible across the industry.
