About me
Short description of my voice:Hailing from East Midlands/Nottingham area, Wreh-Asha has a versatile and current sounding voice. Commercially she is modern, with energy and vitality. Her narratives are sensitive and smooth and her delivery is confident and engaging. A sense of humour and a sassy quality shine through.
A graduate of Vocal Tech, Wreh-asha is currently in the Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre. A strong singer and stage performer.
Additional skills:
Following what she hails as a 'life changing' run in the The Lion King,Wreh-asha proceeds in transitioning into
the voice over industry. Of Jamaican heritage Wreh-asha was born and raised in Nottingham as an only child to a hard working single mother. Taking inspiration from the steadfast work ethic of her mother and family Wreh-asha excelled in the arts throughout her teens appearing on ITV's Stars in Their Eyes as icon Mary J. Blige, performing for BBC Radio 1Xtra's Homegrown and performing as a finalist for BBC
Radio Play's 'Norman Beaton Fellowship'.
After exhausting every avenue available to her in her hometown, ever determined, Wreh-asha headed to London
just before her 18th birthday to try making it in 'the big city'. This move catapulted Wreh-asha into a kaleidoscope of opportunity to work on her craft and there she held down at times several 'day jobs' as she sought training at Vocal Tech Vocal School and Identity
Drama School. During training she attended master-classes led by the most diverse of practitioners and performers
from internationally successful artists such as Billy Ocean to renowned British play-write Che Walker and drama technicians of the Alexander Technique, Le Coq and The Royal Shakespeare Company. Wreh-asha was scouted by Qtalent, her now agent following
her portrayal of icon Nina Simone in a monologue taken from Laura McCluskey's 'Nina and Shaz'; one she knew well
as she played the lead role of Nina in the original theatre production. Recent times have seen Wreh-asha in a number of national TV and radio commercials, stage plays as well as her West End debut in Disney's The Lion King.
