Highlights
-
Brennan’s dance work started with a bang as he performed in The Surrender Method (Expanse Movement Arts Festival) in 2010. Since then he has worked on various small dance projects and in 2012 with the aid of the Edmonton Arts Council he was afforded the opportunity to travel to Japan to train and perform with the Butoh dance company Dairakudakan. In the 2012 / 2013 season Brennan joined Calgary-based Three Left Feet Movement Creations as a dancer, teacher, and stiltwalker.
His training includes two years of dance instruction in Jazz, Tap, and Ballet at Grant McEwan University's Theatre Arts diploma program, which focuses on Musical Theatre. Brennan's training in this area is complimented by several years of Contemporary Dance Classes, a brief internship with Bellavia Folk Dance Company in Edmonton, and several classes and workshops in Butoh, Laban, Viewpoints, and Contact Improvisation. -
Brennan is a Canadian actor, dancer, and improviser currently living in Brisbane, Australia. He is a 2009 graduate of Grant McEwan University's Theatre Arts diploma and a 2013 graduate of Zen Zen Zo Physical Theater's Internship program.
The first few years of his professional career were mainly centered around his work as Co-Artistic Director of No Snowcones Productions (a fringe theatre company). During his tenure, the company created and performed five shows on the Canadian Fringe Circuit, most notably of which was @Life.
Brennan has been an actor most of his life. Highlights include: touring Macbeth and The Tempest (Theatre Prospero), performing in Night Time (Cowardly Kiss Theatre), Hybrid Moments: A Romantic Black Comedy (NFG Film) and Horace Porridge Goes To Work (Blue Sky Theatre Emporium). His Australian credits include performing in Medea: The River Runs Backwards and Here There Be Dragons (Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre).
As an improviser, Brennan has worked with The 11 O’clock Number (Grindstone Theatre), DnD: Improv Edition (No Snowcones), Slixer Entertainment, and Terry Shane Murder Mysteries. He has also been a guest improviser on the Canadian Comedy Award-winning Die-Nasty Soap-A-Thon. Brennan would like to describe himself as hilarious. I hope he trips. What a jerk.
