About me
Experience2012
(July)
Freelance work- I was asked to shoot a short film about planned closures at local schools in Wales, an event covered by other members of the press including BBC Wales and ITV Wales. The day included a balloon release and protests made by members of the schools, local council and community. Shot on DV tape using a Sony DSR-PD150P cam.
SIBE - Student Interactive Broadcast Entranet is an initiative launched by Warwick students in September 2011. Its aim is to encourage more engagement with social problems and political issues through using media, television and interactive platforms. I joined SIBE as part of their long documentary team. Due to my hard work and commitment I later took over as head director/ producer of the Student Apathy documentary, leading a small team of researchers, technicians, editors and web developers. I have organised and conducted interviews and used camera and editing equipment.

Warwick TV- My main role in WTV was with their News and Documentary department. I have been particularly involved in a documentary project about student depression; researching, finding locations and organising meetings. I have also shot with a range of professional camera equipment (including 1080i HD) and used WTV's professional editing suite and software (Final Cut Pro 7 and Final Cut X). A particular highlight was helping organise and lend technical assistance to the NASTA (National Student Television Awards) award winning 'The Big D'; Warwick's live coverage of our student union elections.

(July- September)
Positive News- Positive News provides solution focussed journalism to a readership of over 50,000 people and has worked alongside larger newspapers such as The Guardian. As an intern at Positive News, I worked as part of a small team of journalists. I was encouraged to write about people and initiatives that are having a real positive impact on the world either locally or globally. As well as having several pieces in print and other pieces published online, I was invited to represent Positive News at the Schumacher Centenary conference; a weekend of interviewing high profile individuals.

Windfall films- Windfall is a film company with an international reputation for factual, documentary and science based programmes. Recent programmes include the BAFTA award winning 'Inside Nature's Giants'. My main role was in development as a junior researcher. I used email, the internet and telephone to research for programmes. I helped log raw film rushes and attended a development board meeting. I both worked independently and alongside Windfall's development team in general research and assistance.
