About me
I completed my degree, BA (Hons) Costume and Performance Design for Costume Supervision at The Arts University Bournemouth. Following from the completion of my degree, I have focused my work prospects toward strengthen my skills as a Costume Supervisor through many diverse roles to ensure a well rounded skill set. My costume supervision experience has been that of a theatrical basis, however, my skill set is diverse as I have had experience working on online adverts and short promotional films. I would like to think that experience combined with the diversity of projects I have worked on, has allowed me to formulate a versatile skill set as a Costume Supervisor. My character is such that I thrive within the organisational process and run of live productions. My work in theatre and film has taught me how to work effectively as part of a team and develop a high level of communication, working under time constraints and to immediate deadlines. I have strong interpersonal skills and work extremely well within a team as well as independently. I believe that this is reflected in the times I have been invited back to work with the same creative teams.
I relish spending time amongst my creative team to utilise each other's skills and different ways of thinking, to conclude a final visual representation of the costume design. I thoroughly enjoy working closely alongside the designers, directors and production team to achieve high artistic quality through clear communication. I am confident in script analysis and breakdowns as well as costume continuity as all skills have significantly featured throughout my career thus far. I have a solid understanding of costume maintenance and dressing from past experience and am currently putting those skills into practice at The Royal Opera House.
I am a pragmatic thinker and I always strive to maintain and present a high level of intellectual reasoning through my communication skills and problem solving abilities. I pride myself on keeping level headed and maintaining my composure by assessing the situation with a fair level of thought before action. I am confident in using my own initiative and am able to delegate effectively.
