About me
Beginning in September 2018 I have been studying Film Studies and Television Production with the University of Chester for my Bachelor of Arts degree. In television production, our lectures educate us on the practices and roles within the broadcasting and filming industry. Primarily are studies involve working as a part of a film-crew within a studio setting. Our studio work involves aspects of talent-finding, researching, script-writing, video-editing with software such as premiere pro, operating cameras, lighting equipment, sound equipment and even presenting and performing. Some of our other roles include floor managing and directing to help our communication and coordinating skills as well as to educate us in the various responsibilities within a film crew. We are also accustomed to scouting and filming on location. This requires that we complete all legal and safety procedures, such as obtaining filming rights and completing risk assessment forms. During and outside of my university course, I have produced short films in the style of documentary, interview, stop-motion and animation. I am passionate about creating content and storytelling and am highly motivated to working towards my career within media. For film Studies, my fellow classmates and myself are educated on the history of film and on critically analysing film. Our assignment work for film studies mainly consists of academic study that we then utilise for our essay work or written exams. However, we are also tasked with creating original content, such as developing storyboards, screenplays and animations for our original short-film projects. Overall, this degree not only teaches me the techniques used by the filmmakers within the film and Television industry, but it has also helped develop my understanding of film / TV production and provides me with the skills and opportunity to develop my own ideas and create original content.Referees:
