Project DetailsESSENTIAL: Actors must live within 30-40 minutes drive of Tunbridge Wells where all our props and costume are stored. Sometimes you will be required to collect props before getting to a school for an 8am start.
ESSENTIAL: You will need use of a medium sized car. Minis/smart cars are too short to fit in the screens that we use. Estate cars are perfect or smaller estates like a Skoda Fabia Estate work fine.
So if you apply for this role and tell me you don't drive or that you live in Scotland: with all due respect (!) I will ignore your application.
Previous applicants need not apply.
General information
Steps in Time was started by Oliver McMechan, in 2006. We offer nine different one-person historical shows for primary schools, ranging from The Stone Age to World War 2. They are fast-paced and full of energy. One actor plays all the characters and many schools have us back year after year. The shows are often likened to Horrible Histories, but we like to point out that our shows came first!
We are currently looking for more actors to add to our pool.
We are looking for actors who:
• Can do a good variety of accents
• Have high energy on stage
• Enjoy working with children
• Have use of a car (this is essential)
• Ideally lives close to our base in Tunbridge Wells, Kent
• Have or are willing to get an enhanced DBS certificate
