About me
I am a 47-year-old male of stocky build with spiky hair, punky style and attitude although can do normal at a push. I work from home so am available for almost all jobs at relatively short notice and as I spread my time from two bases in Rainham, Essex (Greater London) and Haywards Heath (Sussex) anywhere within the London/home counties/south-east/sussex coast area.Acting experience:
I have considerable amateur acting experience from my time at school and in local amateur dramatic groups as a child and teenager. I have also taken part in workshops at the Royal Opera House with my son who is a member of the youth company there. I have recently worked with acting and casting coach Smantha Haywood.
Singing experience:
I was in the school choir and have also sung in various punk and rock bands in the past.
Modelling experience:
I recently worked as a model patient for a series of national health Clinical Examination in Practise training videos at The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, Dudley.
Television experience:
I first appeared on television at the age of 10 when Multi-Coloured Swap Shop came to my home town of Chesham and I swapped an Action Man for a Subbuteo set although both items actually belonged to the friend I was "swapping" them with. I appeared as an extra in the Channel 4 film Good and Bad At Games in 1982 when I was 16 and have also appeared in the crowd at several BBC studio shows including a couple of editions of That's Britain. I recently filmed a new feature film about football called Kicking Off.
Specific skills:
Having previously recovered from cancer and lived with such diverse conditions as ankylosing spondylitis, osteoporosis, diverticultis, asthma and diabetes at different times in my life, I am more than adept at understanding and displaying suffering but am also fully capable ofovercoming anything with grit, determination and a smile on my face.
Interesting past experiences:
As a former journalist and PR, I have worked with and interviewed some of the biggest names in the business, including such luminaries as Dame Helen Mirren, Jamie Oliver, Ian Wright, Tony Adams, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Chris Eubank, Coldplay, Lord Sebastian Coe, Depeche Mode, Sir Alan Sugar, Oasis, Take That, Mike Gatting, Radiohead, Steve Davis, Blur, Barry McGuigan, Sir Derek Jacobi, Damon Albarn, Stephen Hendry, Sir Ian Botham, Dame Kelly Holmes, Ricky Gervaise, Graham Gooch, Alan Davies, Sir Steve Redgrave, Robbie Williams, Paul Weller and Sir Bobby Charlton to name but a few.
My interests:
I have a keen interest in all sports, particularly football and cricket and I am a lifelong supporter and member of Arsenal Football Club. I have an extensive and varied interest in all forms of entertainment and particularly music, both live and recorded, films, books, clubs and theatre. In the past, I have been involved at a personal level by performing in and promoting several bands and stage shows, although nowadays I am happier to watch my children do the performing. Other interests include computer games, social networking and other online activities, as well as more traditional pursuits as reading, cooking and eating out. I love getting out and about, either on my own, with the family or groups of friends and enjoy travelling, particularly by boat and train, both at home and abroad. I am married with two sons - one of 18 and one of 11 – of whom I am very proud.
