About me
I have been working in the entertainment industry for the last four years. A strong interest in music led me to taking up the drums. This progressed on to recording and using music tech. Since deciding to pursue my passion and studying music technology at college I have rapidly gained experience in many area's of the industry.I am currently working freelance primarily as a Live Sound engineer but also frequently work as an AV technician and as a technician in theatre. My work varies greatly from managing and operating sound in small venues to setting up large line arrays at festivals such as V-fest, Radio one big weekend and WOMAD. My AV experience covers small internal meetings up to large high profile balls and exhibitions in London rigging and operating visuals, sound and managing local crew. When I'm not working away from my hometown I work locally at a 1,000 capacity theatre. Since beginning my work there at the start of 2015 I have been involved in all aspects of theatre from setting up large touring bands such as UB40 and Jules Holland to working on West end shows. These include Joseph and Hairspray. As a local technician I am usually assisting touring crew with their setup, this can be lights, sound, staging or catering. I enjoy 'load outs and in's' as I like the physical challenge it provides unloading and setting up multiple trucks worth of equipment.
Having come from a musicians background I am passionate about recording and currently work in a local studio. My knowledge of the theory behind audio allows me to work creatively on DAW programmes such as Logic and Pro Tools but also in a live situation with a variety of digital consoles.
Because of my current work schedule I am used to working long hours and irregular shift patterns.
Additional skills:
Grade 7 drums at distinction
Excellent IT skills and experience on most industry standard software, I use Windows and Mac OS regularly.
