I was taught singing by Steven Luke Walker whose technique is at the forefront of Musical Theatre singing technique. I teach singing at numerous drama schools and have run my own choirs over the years. I am very experienced with choral work and harmonies. I find it easy to improvise.
I come from a background of performers in the family mainly Rock and Roll music so this sound is always at the centre or what I do. However over the years I have explored and been touched my lots of other music including gospel and jazz singers. I love to explore what can be done with a voice.
I am also a writer and composer. I love to write lyrics and music I find it very cathartic and enriching. I believe I have a unique style to my sound and style. I wrote a cross over musical/song cycle in 2014 with my collaborator called "Here's To Life" which can be watched here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3G0tcltOaY&list=UUnbKWsY02qfXgY582iGlBDg
I love all styles of music and am always looking for ways to push against the norm. I have composed a crossover musical with a collaborator called "Here's to life" which was sponsored by Caffe Nero to go to Cornbury Festival 2014.
Here is one song which really fits the brief. I wrote the lyrics and composed the most of this particular track. "Man in the Mirror"
