December 2011 – Myself and two other Circus Space students were asked to put together and perform an assembly in some local schools to promote an upcoming show at the Roundhouse theatre
November 2011 – My team won the Redbull Ex-cam video competition with ‘The School Run’. The competition was an opportunity to film and edit your chosen freesport in a 48 hour time period and only 15 teams of 3 people were able to take part.
Whilst at Secondary School I helped to choreograph and performed in several drama and dance performances. Two of these shows were a collaboration of schools from across the Wirral and were open to the public – ‘Adiemus’ (performed at Liverpool Cathedral) and ‘One World’ (performed at the Floral Pavillion, New Brighton). I also assisted with dance classes and trampolining classes of younger students and taught gymnastics to younger students one afternoon a week.
In 2010 I won two gold medals for gymnastics (tumbling and mixed pair acro-balance) at the North West Sports Acrobatics and Tumbling prelims competition securing a place in the Schools British Championships.
Myself and some fellow Circus Space students have formed an urban circus troupe, Intelligent Movement. Our first video on Youtube, ‘Lazy Sunday’ attracted over 45,000 views within a week and resulted in an interview with Rightthisminute.com, a companion to the weekday American news show, Right this Minute. -
