About me
For over 11 years, I have dedicated myself to educating the next generation of dance artists. I’ve found it imperative to adapt my teaching methods to meet my students’ needs to ensure they reach their max potential. I believe in creating a safe environment filled with encouraging language and positive reinforcement to foster creativity and confidence. My lessons are designed to be both fun and informative while challenging my dancers and adhering to a strict syllabus. My career has allowed me to interact with a wide array of people varying in age, ethnicity and economic background. Being able to work with many unique individuals has not only improved my ability to communicate, but to also understand how dance can be utilized in ways to positively impact relationships, wellbeing and communities.Additional skills:
In addition to my dance education and training, I’ve also taught reformer Pilates classes with the ability to cater for injury rehabilitation and pre/post-natal clients. Being able to understand the fundamentals of Pilates helps to enrich my dance lessons ensuring correct technique, safe training and injury prevention methods are consistently being practiced. Finally, I actively take measures to further my knowledge by taking courses on topics such as Health & Wellbeing. I believe in constantly evolving for my own personal growth as well as for the benefit of my students.
Additional information:
Originally from Southern California, dance has played an integral role in my life for over 26 years. I’ve had the privilege to train with master instructors across multiple dance genres throughout the Los Angeles area. Some of my commercial dance credits include on-call dancer for Cirque Du Soleil, New York City Rockettes, Fox Network’s So You Think You Can Dance and Sparks WNBA. I attended the prestigious Orange County High School of the Arts in Santa Ana, California where I received elite training in the Commercial Dance conservatory. Afterwards, I went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance with a minor in Public Relations from Chapman University. Their versatile program covered courses in dance history, choreography, improvisation, movement anatomy, injury prevention, pedagogy and more.
