About me
I have always loved telling stories whether they be short one-liners or extended, staged, dramas. I have been involved in near every element of producing both stage and filmed productions: from writing and directing to stage hand and boom operator, from producing and editing to lighting and costume design. I am more experienced in theatre but look forward to doing more filmed work. This love of stories couples well with my love of history, I studied History at the University of Southampton and so any period pieces are of particular interest as they give me a chance to research a new period of history. Historians are the ultimate storytellers, but every once in a while it's nice to tell a crude joke or two.
When I am not working, I enjoy writing scripts, playing hockey, and challenging myself as a performer to expand my skillset- whether this be through dance, singing, magic, music, or some other random skill. I have since become a mixologist and enjoy making tailored cocktails, have started going to more gigs to expand my (admittedly pretty crap) taste in music and experimenting with Raspberry Pi computer builds.
Additional skills:
DBS Cleared: I used to working with children and young people with learning disabilities. For five years I worked with the charity Disabilty Challengers and I toured in a Theatre in Education production of “The Railway Children”- going into Primary and SEN Schools.
Script Writer: Writing has always been a passion of mine, at any time I will likely have multiple different scripts at various stages of development cross genres, ranging from musicals to historical dramas.
Magician: I am experienced in performance, escapology and bar bets. During lockdown I aim to complete my original mentalism trick for sale.
Physical/Movement: Recently I was in a run of the physical theatre play “100” (Maskers Theatre Co., October 2019).
Stand-Up Comedian: Quarter-Finalist in the South Coast Comedian of the Year Awards 2019.
Musical Theatre: I love Musical Theatre, whilst it is not my primary area of focus as a performer, it is a unique thrill I still love when I get the chance.
Other Skills: Basic French, stage combat, weapons handling (live firearms), skiing, snowboarding, hockey and running.
