About me
An experienced, dedicated, professional and reliable performer in all mediums.An excellent character actor with real stage presence who's sympathetic style brings the best out of himself and others.
An impressive Tenor / Baritone singer able to give a real 'performance' whatever he is asked to do.
Additional information:
A late convert to the stage, Nick made his performing debut as Freddie Eynsford-Hill in POD's production of My Fair Lady in 2006, Nick is now a busy actor. He subsequently played the role of Lord Preservus in Iolanthe at the 2006 Midsummer Festival at Dyffryn followed by Cutthroat the Pirate in the PODS Christmas production of Robinson Crusoe.
In 2007 he appeared as Antonio in The Gondoliers, and made his professional acting debut in the role of Elizabethan Spymaster Hugh Owen in The Throckmorton Cypher.
Nick also made his film acting debut in Lir - a surrealistic version of King Lear produced by students at the University Of Wales Film School in Caerleon. The Shakespearian connection continued in the role of Exeter in Concept's innovative production of Henry V. Pantomime in 2007 was as Snatchet (the Brokers Man) in Jack and The Beanstalk.
2008 was another busy year, as well as the role of Tevye in Concept's Fiddler on The Roof;
"a fine performance as the gentle confused milkman Tevye, coloured with pathos, sensitivity and humour and beautifully singing the role." (NODA);
Nick was also part of People's Chorus in the WNO production of Aida, (also the popular BBC Songs of Praise), and appeared as Baron Bonvilston in Moonlight Theatre's production of Iolanthe. Following a cameo appearance as Jim the Boatswain in Concept's Thesps', the 2008 Pantomime season saw, perhaps, one of his greatest challenges to date as the Dame - Nurse Dotty Dettol - in PODS production of Sleeping Beauty.
2009 saw Nick make his radio / podcast debut as Thomas Arne and The Bailiff in local author Nigel Holloway's play, Skin and Sir Thomas Modyford in The Damning of Henry Morgan with Concept Players. He also appeared as Enoch Snow in PODS production of Carousel and as Giorgio in Everyman's production of The Gondoliers at the Open Air Festival at St Fagans National History Museum. PODS Pantomime saw him take on the role of The Genie in Aladdin. Coupled with this, Nick made his debut as a Supporting Artist in various Film and Television productions including Ironclad, Ar Yr Tracs and Pen Taler.
Nick's work in Film and Television continued in 2010 with supporting roles in the Feature Film Hunky Dory and on Television in Pobl Y Cwm, Casualty, X-Ray and Merlin. On stage, Nick began the year playing Eli Whitney in Concept's Anything Goes, this was followed by an acclaimed performance as Fagin in PODS production of Oliver
"Nick Pratt dominated the stage with a deft humour and a colourful characterisation of the likeable rogue Fagin, taking his numbers at a merry pace and with good clear diction." (NODA)
The year ended with Nick's (now traditional) appearance in the PODS Pantomime, this time as The Ogre in Puss In Boots.
2011 was a busy one with numerous TV and Film Supporting Artist appearances. Nick has also appeared as Herr Schultz in PODS highly acclaimed production of Cabaret and as Montague in Bare Knuckle's innovative Romeo and Juliet. Nick also ventured in to the world of Agatha Christie playing General MacKenzie in Concept's innovative production of And Then There Were None. The year closed with the most challenging role as Santa Clause / Sean Conn at the Wales Millennium Centre - 16 hours of 'Role Play' every weekend - a real challenge but one that brought rave reviews.
Much of 2012 has been dominated by Nick's Film and Television Supporting Artist Work most significantly in the recurring Supporting Artist role as The Blacksmith in Starz Production of Da Vinci's Demons. Nick has also been delighted to be involved in a number of independent productions e.g. Music Promotion and Student Films.
