About me
Studied Drama and English at Goldsmith's College, appearing in student theatre productions of Shakespeare plays at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, alongside Julian Clary, then joined an adult Punch and Judy show named The Greatest Show On Legs run by legendary mc and comedian Malcolm Hardee. Graduated to scribbling about sport for a living and wote for all the national papers on football and cricket for 30 years. Won the William Hill Sports Book Of The year Award for ghostwriting the autobiography of England cricketer Marcus Trescothick, and also ghosted autobiographies for Ian Botham and Phil Tufnell. Now semi-retired from journalism and enjoying a second "career" in theatre: after my late wife passed away in 2013 ( I had been her primary carer for eleven years) I joined a new charity fundraising amateur group in ludlow, Shropshire called Two Score and have appeared/directed the following productions of plays by Shakespeare ; Twelfth Night (Orsino), Macbeth (directed) The Merry Wives of Windsor (Falstaff) plus an audio production of A Midsummer Night's Dream which I directed and played Bottom, and Becket by Jean Anouilh ( Henry 2). Three professional appearances in pantomime at The Regal Theatre, Tenbury Wells as Nobby The Naughty Panda ( I kid you not ) in Aladdin, King Bertram The Brave in Jack and The Beanstalk and King Rat in Dick Whittington and as Fagin in Oliver! at the same venue. Sing 2nd tenor in the renowned Ludlow Male Voice Choir and can sing baritone too,.License & Passport
