About me
Having trained with and alongside the likes of Derek Brown (CEO of Actorshop Ltd), Michael Buffong (Artistic Director of Talawa Theatre Company), Jo martin (Dr Who, 4321, Batman Begins), Roger Griffiths (Eastenders, Chef), comes from a good pedigree of creatives, where initial training was with the Theatre Royal Stratford East and Black Theatre Co-Operative collaborations of the early/mid 1980’s, where he performed at a number of well-known fringe theatre venues. He returned to acting late in 2016, after having to take a long sabbatical, due to family reasons. Since returning he has been honing and directing his skills more towards the screen, even though 2019 saw him take on the lead role in the Kwame Kwei-Armah stage play Fix-up and more recently in March 2020, the role of Brucie in Lynn Nottage’s Pulitzer prize winning Sweat. With good all-round acting chops, Richard is very hard working and has always proved creative with his characterisations as well as adaptive under direction.
