About me

Robert is an actor and writer who has worked extensively in touring theatre, television and the corporate world. His great sense of fun and chameleon like qualities allow him to work across all media, slipping comfortably from naturalism for stage and television, through presenting work for Blue Chip companies, to the live comedy performance that he enjoys most of all.

Robert's Television work has included Dangerfield, Disney Channel, Crime Watch, Boon and several TV adverts. Voice work has been heard on local and national radio adverts, cartoon characters for CD Rom work and character voices for the new Millenium Point Exhibition in Birmingham.

Robert has worked live and on video as a presenter for famous brands such as Tarmac, Kraft Foods, Mazda and Cadburys.

Theatre credits include many national tours, a "Fringe First" award at the Edinburgh Festival and performances at the Donmar Warehouse. He also writes and performs in a comedy duo "The Cheeky Chappies" who have performed alongside Frank Skinner, Frank Carson, Lee Evans, Harry Enfield, Sean Hughes and Jo Brand.

Robert has worked in theatre, television and radio since 1983. Narrowly avoiding a career as a shoplifter and burglar, he started his career with newly formed Tic Toc Theatre Company, and became a full-time company member and director, performing in all of their shows, including the award winning "Hooligans". At Tic Toc he began to write community shows and comedy cabaret in partnership with fellow actor Paul Nolan.

Since leaving Tic Toc in 1991, Robert has been a freelance performer and writer, and recently completed an MA in Television Scriptwriting at De Montfort University, where he was mentored by Micheál Jacob, a BBC Executive Producer. Robert has written theatre, corporate videos, conferences, short stories, and comedy for the internet. Together with Paul Nolan he set up The Cheeky Chappies, writing and performing comedy shows and most recently commissioned by the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry.

Robert is currently working on rewriting his Film Script "War Memorial Park" and a TV Cops Drama "Double Tap", and runs a weekly Drama Club for 7-11 year olds at Earlsdon Primary School.
