About me
Winner of 'BEST ACTRESS IN AN INDIE FILM' - NEW YORK FILM AWARDS 2019A classically trained, Shakespeare-weaned actress and experienced voiceover artist.
As an actor I embrace a meaty role. But I also love character work and have a strong bent and genuine love for comedy. It's always felt like a huge privilege to be working with actors, writers and directors - its never a job.
Acting experience:
Feature Films; Theatre - Classical, Comedy & Musical Theatre; TV
Voiceovers - Radio/TV, Film /Online campaigns/ Audiobooks
Additional skills:
I am an experienced singer. I have a powerful bluesy jazz voice which I can adapt to a more musical theatre style if necessary.
Voiceovers - People have described my voice as warm, inviting, clear, classy, engaging, sexy, sultry, energetic, friendly, velvety, assured, authoritative, natural, husky and - with a bit of a Joanna Lumley thing going on!
Industry awards:
New York Film Awards Oct 2019 - Best Actress in an Independent Film
About me -
Since getting all grown-up and moving to East Sussex to co-raise our family, (two argumentative teenage boys and an equally argumentative Labrador) I co-set up ‘The Very Merry Roosters’ theatre troupe with a bunch of old pros and some talented local am-drammers, which has gained a local cult following. Our once a year block-buster show is awaited with bated breath by our local fan base.
Over recent years I've worked with various independent film makers on both film shorts and feature length films, with the portrayal of my role in the Indi film - You Won't Remember Me - resulting in my winning a Best Actress award at the New York Film Awards in 2019.
Fast forward, and I'm now what is known as a 'mature actress' - but I do actually believe that my advancing years have increased my versatility - and I'm going with it! I'm keen to share my acting and voiceover skills with any new opportunities that present themselves, both great and small.
I'm also on Mandy Voices if you'd like to have a listen, and am currently available for representation.
