About me
Taira worked as a professional dancer for over 10 years she performed in the original cast of we will rock you at The Dominion Theatre as well as Chicago ,Grease (Cha Cha ),Fame ,The snowman, Royal Variety show, Queens jubilee, Party in the Park & Michael Parkinson , working with some of the best choreographers such as Arlene Philips, Robert North ,Janet Smith , Sheron Wray . Taira has also worked with various contemporary dance companies including 'Janet Smith Dance Co & Jazzxchange music & Dance Co with performances at The Royal Opera House & riverside studios, during her time with these companies she was also creating choreography within the pieces.Choreography Credits include short film ‘UNDO’ which premiered at The san Francisco dance film festival and the New York ‘Dance for camera’ festival , Jack & The Beanstalk (Aylesbury civic ) , Jack & the Beanstalk , (Pomegranate Theatre Chesterfield ), Beauty & the Beast (Pomegranate Theatre Chesterfield) ,Paul Holman Associates . Dick Whittington ( RiverFront Newport ) Jack & the Beanstalk ( Newark) , Cinderella (Riverfront Newport) Hiss & Boo . Taira is founder and artistic director of contemporary dance company 'HINGED’ . The company have performed in short film ‘Carly’s Exit ,The Place in 2011 & 2012 as part of ‘Resolution’ . In 2014 ‘HINGED’ completed their phase of R&D funded by the arts council for their project ‘Prisoner 466’which was also shown at ‘The House Of Lords’
2016 Commercial piece for ‘Greenland investment company ’ in Shanghai.
