About me
After being introduced to acting at school and discovering that theatre was the only career choice for me, I spent a disproportionate amount of time at the University of Sheffield immersed in it. Having joined the university's theatre company, I was given ample opportunities to improve my acting and very much enjoyed it. I was also given the opportunity to direct, which was an incredibly effective way of improving my acting, as the experience of attempting both roles within the rehearsal room allows a slightly deeper understanding of how to communicate creative ideas and how to interpret direction.Although university drama was great fun and very fulfilling, there just wasn't quite enough of it, so I started acting with other independent theatre companies in Sheffield as well as setting up my own. This provided me with opportunities to try more new writing and to participate in festivals, such as the National Student Drama Festival, the Camden Fringe, the Edinburgh Fringe and BEAM, as well as performing in a variety of fringe theatres around the country, which was an endlessly rewarding and educational insight into performing in a professional environment. I have accrued a wide variety of experience in different parts, from Sweeney Todd through to a drag act in 'The Iconoclasts', and my passion for Shakespeare has led me to start up an annual Shakespeare Festival based in Suffolk, in which I was lucky enough to direct 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. Now that my time in Sheffield is finished and I have spent a year working as a writer, director and actor on several award-winning shows, I am looking to acquire as much work and experience in acting as possible, and I am very excited to immerse myself unreservedly in whatever opportunities present themselves.

Additional information:
Studying Psychology at the University of Sheffield has opened many doors for me over the past three years. I am a member of one independent theatre company as well as the founder my own, through which I was able to write and direct an award-winning sell-out show. My passion for music has enabled me to sing on an amateur and professional basis for many choirs and choral ensembles, as well as gig professionally with a folk band (playing guitar and lead vocals). I have a keen interest in technology and computing, and enjoy this hands-on style hobby in which I can build computers and learn simultaneously. Ultimately, I believe it is my friendly nature, passion and enthusiastic attitude that will make me an asset to any potential employer.
I am a keen reader, with a variety of interests in history, anthropology, psychology, music, technology, literature and philosophy. I find lots of ideas and concepts within these subjects to be exciting and find huge joy in communicating these ideas and excitement to others and engaging them in the wider conversations around these topics. An example of this is the musical that I wrote in February of 2017, a darkly comedic love story about two psychopaths that form a relationship. This combines my fascination with psychology, musical theatre and comedy, whilst engaging audience members in difficult and complex conversations about empathy and love. After a hugely successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe, I am now touring this musical through a variety of venues around the UK, whilst also acting in several other shows, and writing and directing a podcast about (and set in the world of) the fantasy roleplaying game 'Dungeons and Dragons'. My interests and hobbies form a pool of material that I draw on to create content in many formats, and that I hope will engage people, inform, and entertain.
