    About me

Andy trained at the top two mime schools in the United Kingdom The Mime Centre and The Desmond Jones School of Mime. Andy is renowned for having one of the best mime techniques the UK. He first started as a street performer in Covent Garden. In 1982, he co-founded Man Machine a robotic mime act. In 1983 Man Machine won the first Time Out "Street Performers Of The Year" competition.

Man Machine toured the UK extensively and appeared on many television programmes as well as pop videos for Pauline Black and the Polecats. They also toured Ireland, Germany with a residency in the Hyatt Hotel in Dubai.

In the summer of 1985 Andy co-founded Nebular, which used a mixture of dance, mime and robotics. Again Nebular performed all round the UK and abroad in Finland, Holland, Singapore, France and Germany. Nebular even performed in The Daidogei World Cup (a street and theatre competition) in Japan. Even though Nebular ceased as a double act 1992, Andy continues to use the Nebular name for his successful solo act .

In 2001, he formed Les Hommes Sans Noms for the stand-up circuit with a fellow performer from his street performing days, Jim Woodcock. Les Hommes toured the London comedy circuit for a year and a half and even got a special commendation at the Hackney Empire, "Best Of The New Acts Of The Year" competition. Les Hommes sans Noms can still be booked for events and details about the act can be found on the Nebular character page.

For the last couple of years Andy has been performing in the corporate entertainment area of the business. He has also worked on the film "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers", body doubling for Geoffrey Rush.

In 2006, Andy went out to Dubai to perform at the newly opened Kempinski Hotel as well as performing for Her Majesty The Queen at Buckingham Palace. And keeping with a royal theme Andy has also performed for a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family. As well as the usual corporate work, Andy has taken part in the filming for a new television program for the BBC "Not Going out" and also worked on the sequel to the film "28 days later" called "28 weeks later". To finish the year off Andy went back to Dubai and while away made the cover of the December issue of The Observer Food Monthly magazine.

2008 was a busy year for Andy, he worked on the feature film "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince", and was involved in the filming of several television shows and adverts. In 2009 he is working on both performing and non performing projects.

In January 2009 he performed at the charity film premiere of "The Secret of Moonacre" (Photo on the gallery page) and in April he performed a small mime sequence on the Richard and Judy TV show. At the beginning of May Andy performed for Giorgio Armani at Selfridges 100th birthday promotion and in mid May showing that mime can transcend both different cultures and languages Andy shot a Bangladeshi commercial to be shown on the British ethnic satellite channels.

In November 2009 Andy worked on Harry Hill's TV Burp for ITV as a body popping body double for Derek Achorah, a well known British TV medium.

2011 and Andy goes back to his roots with a new cabaret show for corporate and private events as well as working for clients as diverse as Cleo B shoe designer AEGON Tennis Week Launch Eastbourne 2011, Wrigley's, BBC and "Battle of the Brides" a new wedding show filmed for Living TV on Sky to be aired later in the year. Andy also appeared on stage with Martin Soan (Greatest Show on Legs and one of the inventors of Alternative Comedy in the 1980's) at the Leicester Square Theatre.

2012 and Andy performed and contact juggled in a new Bollywood film as yet untitled with top Indian Director Yash Chopra and starring Shah Rukh Khan
