  About me

  Hi, I'm Jamie Tanner, an English Actor based in Manchester, & I’ve been in the profession for over 10 years. At the beginning of my career I was working as a lighting and sound technician for TV, Theatre & Film, so had a lot of time watching & analysing actors performing & felt that I wanted to do the same, so I decided to make the leap from behind, to the front of camera. Being a sound and lighting tech has helped me out technically with roles as I understand the set from a technical standpoint & can adapt my performance to suit. I love that with acting you can be absolutely anyone & by doing this can get into the mindset of that person. One production you could be Soldier in WW1 then your next you could be a sort after wanted criminal, & its this, that I thrive off. I love reading a script & getting lost in its world & characters, I like to be connected & attached to the character/story as I feel that its a more warm and genuine performance that audiences can be more connected to.
