    Additional Information

At the moment I am writing and creating short films and I also enjoy photography in my spare time.

Some of my favourite films are 'We Need To Talk About Kevin,' 'Beautiful Boy,' 'Moonlight', 'The Beach' and 'Blue Jasmine'. I like these films because of their courage to pose important questions in their exploration of the darker sides of identity, who we think we are? Who do we want to be? and who we give ourselves the permission to be? - the most enigmatic and compelling question of all. I approach the investigation of my characters from this angle and find it much more compelling to ask; who does this person want to be? as opposed to; who are they now? These films succeed in pushing the limits of what we know of ourselves and challenge us to see ourselves in a different light. How do we change through life and circumstance? How affected are we by those around us? our parents, jobs and our life decisions? What it is to be human? Am I ok with where I am at and where am I going, are some of the important questions they ask. They also explore how we repress and resolve ourselves or do we ever? If I am not the person I want to be, (which most characters are presented in this way) then how am I going to transcend my situation, my feelings, my body, my insecurities, my troubles mind, my limitations and myself as I know myself. How far does someone go in order to feel finally 'free'. What does Blanche do in Blue Jasmine in order to feel alive? I often wonder; are we ever truly understood by those around us? Mostly I would argue no, perhaps in moments, so how then does this spectrum move? These films also explore wider societal questions; how do we find our place in society? Do I belong here? Why do I feel that on a spiritual level that I belong somewhere else? Does society allow me to be the fullest version of myself? Again probably not, and how do we inhabit our own inner worlds if society does not give us the space we truly need to understand the complexities of ourselves?

The question of how do we lose and find ourselves is the kind of explorative and introspective psychic work that I feel driven, passionately, to create. To find meaning and understanding in each other or to not.

It is the kind of work that I care the most about and is what keeps me creating theatre and film and working with image.

    About me

I have completed extensive training in acting and speech, singing, and movement. I am a graduate from Academy of Creative Training in Brighton and studied Performing Arts at Brighton and Hove City MET.

I have also gone on to study the work of Meisner, The Method and Uta Hagen in London and Brighton. I have also worked with the National Youth Theatre, Glyndebourne Youth Opera and Brighton Theatre Group and Shine! Theatre group. I have also completed grade 8 in Classical singing.

I also help facilitate a Women's Group at The Southwark Playhouse.

I believe a great performance is given by using the whole body and engaging breath, voice and core and uniting them as a whole. Refining these skills to find my own individual style and vision is something I continue to grow.

‘A sort of real life dreaming - that’s all acting really is’ - Ralph Richardson
