    About me

I am a female playwright of Caribbean heritage, producer and director who has had many years of experience in performing arts and using creativity as a form of rehabilitation for vulnerable adults and young people. I started out as an actress and enjoyed many years performing and then started playwriting shortly after completing university while teaching at a performing arts school. Teaching led me into working with a variety of young people from different back grounds and nationalities which then lead me into working in prisons and youth offending teams and progressing onto vulnerable adults. Over the last 15 years i have worked for theatre companies such as Cleanbreak, Lyric Theatre and The Roundhouse developing skills as a project co- ordinator, producing and event management as well as writing and contributing creatively. As well as performing and writing for productions staged at The Soho, Bridewell, The Shaw, Cochrane theatre and more. In 2012 i started Hiype Productions creating work that is inspired from every day life and bringing more community audiences to the theatre and giving work to young people i have come across who have had a passion for the arts but not always a means. I wrote, directed and produced a play called The Forty Elephants which raised awareness to Girls in gangs and had 5 successful runs which has all been written as a screenplay with hopes for a feature film to be made in the future This has helped further my skills as a producer, writer for screen and stage, stage management as well as other behind the scenes roles. I am a creative activist who is very passionate about using the arts to educate, provoke change and unify through joint entertainment. Young people are also at the heart as creativity creates free thinkers, builds confidence and starts a healthy and positive form of creative expression regardless of their age and background. Creative expression therapy is something i would love to develop and research as a study in the future.
