Shania-Grace Thompson recently graduated with a BA(Hons) degree in Acting & Performance from the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) Farnham. She is a young English actress based around London who is now working as a full-time professional actor.
Since graduating from University, Shania-Grace has gained a wide range of acting skills from both stage and screen. She has undertaken roles of classical works such as, Chekhov’s 'Three Sisters'(2017) as Olga, where she studied the comparisons of Chekhov to Mamet. Shakespeare 'Othello'(2018) as Emilia, receiving stage combat training with Bethan Clark and American Classic 'The Laramie Project'(2019) as Aaron Kreifels. Shania-Grace has created many devised works from Improv 'Yes Sir, No Sir'(2018), studying the likes of Viola Spolin to script writing where she transcribed, studied, directed, and performed her own Autobiographical theatre piece 'Chin-Up'(2020), based on her experiences of having dyslexia.
She has also participated in many short films, as well as working with industry recognised directors such as Ellie Heydon shooting ‘The Night Season’ and Steve North shooting ‘Trello’. Shania has gained skills within radio when working on the radio play ‘Black Eyed Girl’ with Gary Pillai, and received voice coaching with Simon Money, who is currently head of voice coaching at the National Theatre. She also has participated in voice workshops with Adrienne Thoms where she learnt to unleash her voice. Shania-Grace has had a passion for Musical Theatre from a very early age, performing in numerous musical shows.
Shania-Grace was born and brought up in Clacton-On-Sea, Essex. There she obtained additional skills such as Ballet and Contemporary dance training for 5 years, as well as singing training where she received her Grade 8 examination with the London College of Music, In her spare time, Shania likes to do yoga, palates and Zumba, and joined the fencing union during her studies at UCA. After graduating she would like to continue exploring works based around classical, period and contemporary stage acting as this is one of her main passions. In addition, to this she hopes to work on film and television particularly drama and period drama. She will continue to develop and work on her skills in acting by attending courses such as 'Acting in Shakespeare plays' at the Bristol Old Vic. Shania-Grace will endlessly keep looking for new work that will push her capacities.
