About me
Writer, actor and costume technian. I have written ten plays championing roles for women in theatre, all focusing on the lives of celebrated women of the 19th and 20th centuries, under the name Anton Burge. My plays include 'Bette & Joan', starring Greta Scacchi and Anita Dobson and 'Mrs. Pa't, starring Dame Penelope Keith. My most recent play, 'Year of the Virgin', was read at The Charing Cross Theatre, London, starring Sian Thomas. My latest book, 'Portraying Elizabeth ~ Elizabeth I on Stage & Screen', was published in 2020, and includes interviews with Glenda Jackson, Dame Eileen Atkins, Dame Harriet Walter and Miranda Richardson.Since 2011, 'Bette & Joan' has toured worldwide.
Future productions include 'Lady Mosley’s Suite' {read at the Trafalgar Studios with Patricia Hodge and Emilia Fox}, 'Curtsey' {read at The Soho Screening Room with Sophie Ward and Sylvestra le Touzel} and 'The Mystery of Mrs. Christie' starring Dervla Kirwan.
As well as a writer and actor, I worked as a voice-over artist and voice coach on public speaking and a costume technian.
My voice-over credits include work for Channel 4, Film 4 and Sky TV.
My costume credits include seasons at Chichester Festival Theatre, 'Les Miserables' and 'The Phantom of the Opera', both West End, 'Les Miserables' in Germany, and 'Les Miserables, the concert version', on tour in Europe.
