About me
Having studied film and video production for many years I have gained extensive skills and knowledge of the entire production process while simultaneously fueling my passion to create new and original pieces of work. After successfully completing my degree in ‘Digital Film Technology & Visual Effects’ myself and two other graduates combined our collective skills to establish our own video production business. This experience gave me a lot of insight into producing video content for a variety of different clients including; schools, charities and several small businesses.
Through this experience I was faced with many tasks that not only required independent approach but also ensured that my work fit with what my colleagues had produced. It was integral that constant client communication was maintained in order for work to most benefit the client and their requirements. At the same time ensuring that the production targets were met such as budgets and scheduling.
As each project I was involved in had varied technical elements, I was able to apply many of the skills I had developed during my degree; this included all elements of pre-production, production management and capturing HD video on both BlackMagic and Canon cameras. Additionally I undertook numerous post production roles including the processing of raw footage, non-linear editing and colour timing/ grading, I was also involved in creating primitive 2D & 3D composites in both Blender & After Effects.
Being involved in this industry has taken me all around the country allowing me to produce varied and creative VFX work which I aspire to continue doing. I have a real passion to see video projects develop from the simplest creative idea into something admired by its audience. Producing work that is both creatively pleasing and fits within the brief is extremely rewarding, as many projects reach certain difficult stages where problems occur, working past these issues has taught me invaluable lessons and aides me in approaching new problems in different and innovative ways. Gaining new knowledge with each project is part of why I enjoy working in this industry as each project brings new challenges and working past these to produce original work is extremely gratifying.
Having worked casually in hospitality for many years I have developed key communication skills as well as becoming accustomed to working irregular and unsociable hours. This has also helped me to realise that my true passion lies in film and video production and has such pushed me to pursue permanent employment in the post production industry.
I have always tried to push myself to work in film post production but I will always maintain a passions for all aspects of film production. I would be happy to discuss the role with you further and give more details into the experiences I have gained and to showcase my portfolio. Thank you for taking the time to read my application I hope to hear from you soon.
