About me
Currently employed by Bradford Theatres as a technician, my primary role is that of flyman at the citys receiving house, the Alhambra Theatre. I am largely responsible for the upkeep of the flying system, it's operation during get-ins/get-outs and performances, and any rigging required by the touring shows. I also assist with the safe loading and unloading of trucks, and assembly of set pieces. At the city's other venue, St Georges Hall, I have performed the additional roles of Duty Stage Manager, Electrician and Followspot operator for a variety of more intimate performances.
I am an enthusiastic, motivated, and creative member of the technical team, with a record of unusual solutions for unusual problems. I have excellent spatial awareness, an innate knowledge of the workings of complicated machinery, and a penchant for traditional, high-quality worksmanship in everything I do.
Additional skills:
Followspot operation
Computer modelling and visualization
Knowledge of mechanics (steam and prototyping)
Ropework, knotting and splicing
Woodcarving and woodworking

Additional information:
I am naturally quite a practical and active person, and consequently I am involved with a number of hobbies ranging from clock repair, woodwork and rowing through to panel beating and classic vehicle preservation. I am keenly interested in anything that can present a challenge and tax my creative skills.
