About me
I started skating at 16, as a way of bonding with others and practicing an activity where I could feel myself get better with every failed trick, by putting in hours of repetitive movements to develop a form of physical expression that liberated me from my daily life. I got gifted a terrible digital fuji camera for my 17th birthday and started using it to film skateboarding videos. I kept filming and editing endless skateboarding videos and branched into 35mm stills photography from there, which pushed me to capture scenes that were not always related to skating.I spent the next 6 years (unintentionally) building a documentary cinematography skillset. Wanting to push my craft further and build my skill set I decided to study at Bournemouth Film School. I have been trusted with creative decisions and managing camera and lighting teams as a Director of Photography on every university project. I have built relationships with other Head of Departments and learned from their practice as they trust in mine. Striving to engage with filming as much as I can, creating emotionally charged images.
I’ve shot a couple of music videos, as well as a few shorts with fellow passionate graduates. I’ve taken opportunities to join large scale, professional productions in the lighting department for Warner Brothers and Universal.
