About me
I have worked in or around the technical theatre industry since completing my diploma in 2011, I have worked in several venues and have experience with different forms of flying and rigging equipment, different makes and models of generic and moving lanterns and many different lighting control desks. (e.g. Strand 520i, ETC Eos/Ion, Chamsys MagicQ PC wing)I get excited when a company or a sales rep. brings in a new piece of kit, or, working with my current manager on a fixture or control system that neither of us have used before.
During my Apprenticeship I covered all the basic principals of technical theatre at Gower College/Theatr Mwldan from the fundamentals of electricity, making up and testing cables, to essential health and safety rules and guidelines, and writing risk assessments.
I currently have the privilege of working for Aldeburgh Music in their concert hall, studio and several other venues. Whilst here I have developed significantly as a technician, becoming more competent at programming, focusing, and general maintenance of the venue and kit.
Whilst here I have undertaken many responsibilities such as, running a basic lighting rig and PA during the festival, at their fringe venue (The Pump House), and looking after companies and working with them as a lighting board operator on the ETC Ion and Eos.
My passion for this work means I am always energised and ready to go, I work well as part of a team or on my own, I have the initiative to see what needs doing and get on with it. I am a fast learner and feel I can quickly take to any task I am presented with.
I have a passion for this industry and find it magical looking at a production tucked away in the back of a lorry, then helping assemble it, lighting it and seeing it come to life on stage.
