PERSONAL INTERESTS
I enjoy outdoor pursuits, cycling, swimming and keeping fit, as well as being a fully interactive father; I also enjoy reading and watching movies.
FUTURE PLANS
I have enjoyed my time in A&E, but feel I have come as far as I wish to go with regards to my grade, and now wish to take the next step and utilise my skills in a different career, and wish to practice my newly acquired skill as an ENP.
PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS
I will continue to be involved with clinical emergency medicine as I still have an interest and will keep my previously acquired skills up to date, but I have felt the need to specialise and become enhanced within a certain area i.e., management.

Supporting information
Hello my name is Lee Manning for the past 3 years I have been the manager of the minor injuries unit in Malvern which was opened by myself, I have trained up 5 (now qualified) Emergency Nurse Practitioners who now all work within my department, I have a total staff complement of 10 people, I am responsible for the Rostering (E- Rostering) and general running of the department I have completed many managerial/ human resource courses to allow me to do my job fully.
I have also completed the ILM level 5 management course to enhance my managerial expertise.
For the past two years I have been organising the moving of the unit into the newly built community hospital where we have been for the past 6 months, our volume of patients has doubled and the department is now seeing on average 30- 40 patients per day.
I spend the majority of my time doing clinical ENP work with little time left for my managerial work.
Prior to this I was an ENP working within the Accident and Emergency department of Worcester Royal Hospital working as an autonomous practitioner (Extended Practice Emergency Nurse) since 2004, and further completed my ENP course in 2007.
I have also worked as a senior staff nurse within Accident and Emergency since 1996, with a two year break where I was headhunted to manage the nursing staff within a GP practice i returned to Accident and Emergency after this.
Since commencing nursing in 1993 as a student nurse and qualifying in 1996 from the University of Hertfordshire I have gained many in house skills, from phlebotomy to iv drug administration, plastering to suturing and general all round dexterity practice, I also have an in-depth knowledge of patients attending A&E with medical, surgical or trauma related problems.
I have also completed the mentor and teaching courses and have dealt with many students who all went on to successfully qualify.
I have worked in all areas associated with Accident and Emergency and am generally confident in an emergency setting.
I have an up to date Advanced Life Support certificate and current ILS and PILs competencies.
I have also been successful in completing the trauma nursing course and completing a Diploma in Diabetes care in the community.
My family and I have been planning to move to the Exmouth area for the past 2 years, I have just been waiting for the right job opportunity to arise, my partner/wife to be is a financial advisor and can work anywhere within the country so we are very free to move ASAP.
I have 4 children, 2 of which live with me and will be moving to Devon with me, as a family we have always been intending to move and now we feel it is the right time.
My future plans are to continue with my profession in Devon and next year in May 2012.
I hope you have found this information informative and that it gives you a little background information on myself and my circumstances.
