Production Manager, Tour Manager, Lighting & Sound Designer. I have worked in all areas of theatre and have production managed site specific, out door events, parades, West End shows and tours around Europe.

Additional information:
I’m a highly experienced Production Manager and have worked on a wide range of projects. I have a good working knowledge of the different areas of production including set building, stage management, lighting, sound and motorised, counterweight and hemp flying with experience of operating and programming in each area. I have had a diverse career working across a range of venues including small studio theatres, large A1 theatres, arenas, and creating site specific pieces. I've worked in theatre and the entrainment industry for approximately twenty years covering a full spectrum of roles. I mainly work as a Production or Technical Manager with and occasionally some Tour Managing from time to time.

I’m I’ve had a lot of experienced in of managing both production, local and creative staff and motivating those around me. I frequently oversee departmental and production budgets . I’ve been responsible for staffing budgets to cover show staff, fit-up and get-out payments, and any extra staffing required such as fight directors, movement directors and scenic artists. I regularly source equipment and set construction firms around the country, obtaining quotes and checking they meets requirements at both an artistic and quality standard. I pride myself on my approachability and work ethic and feel this and the quality of my work is supported by the repeat work I receive from producers I’ve worked with before.

I’ve undertaken training and spend time ensuring my knowledge of health and safety regulations is up to date. I’m IOSH trained (Managing Safely) and have experienced in creating, and recording, monitoring and updating Risk Assessments, CDM, COSHH Forms, LOLER programme of maintenance, Method Statements for Safe Working Procedures and Fire Safety Records for a variety of public events and productions.

I'm currntly overseeing multiple tour shows and am working with the brand new Shakespeare North Playhouse production Managering shows for them.

Most recently I've been working as Production Manager for Walk The Plank, overseeing large scale outdoor events and installations. This have included Manchester Day Parade, Thank You Manchester Weekender, a two day street festival across the city centre and the Coventry Midsummer Fire Garden as part of Coventry UK City of Culture and Body. I worked again with Coventry UK City of Culture as Lighing Designer for Haus of Kraft stage at The Queen of Flanders in Assesmble Gardens.

I have Production Managed for a variety of venues and companies, I worked as Production Manager for Liverpool Merseyside Theatre Trust overseeing ‘Sleeping Beauty’ their hugely popular rock‘n’roll pantomime and ‘Our Lady Of Blundellsands’ a new play by Jonathan Harvey which premiered at The Everyman Theatre in Liverpool. Some of my other Production Management work was for The Bush Theatre in London on their productions of ‘Strange Fruit’ and ‘Going Through’. 'Going Through' was a show that used British Sign Language throughout to tell the story and utilised projection mapping on multiple moving surfaces as the scenic design, this required a lot co-ordination between members of the creative team to work successfully to tell the story and ‘Strange Fruit’ which was there flag ship show of the year.

I managed Hull Truck’s production of ‘Our Mutual Friend’ which was staged as part of Hull City of Culture 2017. I was also asked to over-see the build of their Christmas production of ‘A Christmas Carol’. I currently, Production Manage a show called ‘Rent Party’ which is touring after originally being produced by The Crucible in Sheffield as their alternative Christmas show in 2017. This is a show which acts as both a political show and party which , it has received rave reviews and continued to tour untill 2021

Other Production Management work includes ‘You’ve Changed’ which has toured around the UK and Europe, a new musical ‘Fight Like a Girl’ which is about the rise of women’s boxing and was staged as a promenade piece in an old mill. I Production Managed two shows for Manchester Metropolitan University which were staged at HOMEmcr, these both involved liaising with the local council about the use of naked flames and smoking during performances. I was Production Manager for ‘Pantomainia’ which was a specially commissioned Easter pantomime to celebrate Telford being 50 years old.

I have worked extensively with Ink Brew Productions the who produces original site specific shows as part of LGBT History Month. These plays include ‘The Adhesion Of Love’, ‘Mister Stokes’ & ‘The Burnley Plays’ (The Burnley Buggers Ball & Burnley’s Lesbian Liberator).

My experience of working in unusual performance spaces has required me to arrange TENs and liaising with councils to stage open air events, including ones on Council property and filling out all the relevant paper work. I have a real passion for working in unusual spaces and creating the performance space to enhance the shows.

I have also worked as a Technical Manager for numerous festivals include Fuse Festival and Black Gold Arts Festival a Manchester based festival showcasing Black Artists. I was a mentor for The Pleasance during the Edinburgh festival. I Technical Managed the tour of ‘Spring Reign’ a hard hitting play about the Syrian conflict, . I have Technical Stage Managed for Breaking Cycles’ street dance version of ‘Pinocchio’ and also toured with circus company Ockham's Razor and their show 'Tipping Point' around Europe.

I was a member of the Stage Management team for the Manchester Commonwealth Games 2002 opening and closing Ceremonies and amongst others was responsible for The Queens Honour Guard and their movement around the stadium. Working on such a large event taught me a lot about complex event management. .
 
I’ve Tour Managed for comedy acts including ‘Lost Voice Guy’, ‘Sean Kelly & The Stars of Storage Hunters’, ‘The Axis of Awesome’ and ‘The Boy with Tape On His Face’. I spent just short of two years working for Gag Reflex working on ‘The Boy with Tape On His Face’ now known as ‘Tape Face’, a comedy show which toured extensively around the UK and Europe as well as doing a West End season at The Duchess and arena shows in South Africa which I Production Managed.  I Production Managed ‘Cornucopia’ which was a variety show staged at The Palace in the west end and included over 50 performers including musical acts, dancers, comedians and Paul Daniels. Although these are comedy shows, they involve large amounts of lighting and sound with very high production values so the producer was keen to use a theatrical Production Manger to ensure production quality was maintained. .
 
I’m fully computer literate using both Mac & PC. I am experienced with Microsoft office and able to use many different forms of CAD programmes. I’m proficient in AutoCAD with experience of both Vectorworks and SketchUp. I am able to read technical information, plans and 3D visualisations and provide detailed information to designers, technical teams and any other parties involved. Over the last year I've become more involved in streamed shows and live performances over platforms like Zoom.
