About me
I am a pragmatic and innovative Technician, with a bias towards lighting and AV and who has a vast professional history working in the entertainment industry on high profile productions and events. My natural technical aptitude enables me to adapt to new equipment and systems with ease, along with strong problem-solving skills to help remedy faults that may occur. I employ my leadership skills to motivate and support a team to work as a unit and deliver outstanding results to support the smooth delivery of productions. It is imperative that I remain self-educated in all Health and Safety, and relevant legislation and regulations to ensure that complete compliance is delivered throughout all functions. My communication skills enable me to converse at all levels.
For the past eight years I have been self-employed as Lighting Designer where I have been required to design, program, rig and operate in accordance with the client’s specifications to ensure that their vision is realised. Whilst mainly only small scale, I have covered many genres of entertainment.
My latest role has been as Deputy Chief Electrician at Worcester Theatres where I am responsible for the operations of all technical departments within theatre, but with direct oversight, under the direction of the Chief Electrician, of the lighting, AV and sound. My duties also include carrying out the testing, maintenance and cleaning of all equipment and liaising with visiting companies on their technical requirements.
