About me
English by birth, Samuel Ellis grew up in Marbella, Spain - an area known as the Costa del Crime. Throughout his formative years he witnessed the extravagant luxury of Marbella, as well as the explosive violence of the holiday resort's criminal underbelly.Samuel completed secondary education in Gibraltar which afforded him the opportunity to read Screenwriting at the New York Film Academy's Los Angeles Campus thanks to a scholarship from HMG of Gibraltar, and has since returned to England to continue his career as a crime and period writer.
Samuel's Thesis Script, COSTA DEL CRIME, was the highest graded of the course and he was the first student to ever obtain a perfect score on their thesis pitch. COSTA DEL CRIME went on to place in the Semi-Finals of 2019’s Screencraft Fellowship and is currently circulating in various international competitions.
Since graduating from the New York Film Academy, Samuel has spearheaded multiple crowd-funding campaigns, and has recently completed a commissioned WW2 feature film for Picture Perfect set for production in early 2021.
He is slated to pen a six part docu-series set around Gibraltar's pivotal role in World War Two, and the sixth installment of a cult classic crime franchise for Carnaby International alongside award winning director Nick Nevern.
