About me

People often ask me what my favourite project was. “Was it the time I recorded from the back of a chinook helicopter, or on a super yacht in Monaco; or when I was capturing the sound of an Icelandic ice cave, or recording an interview at the top of a volcano?” In truth there is only one answer to this question. I simply love my job and enjoy the spontaneity of never knowing what the next adventure will be. Who will I meet and where on earth will I find myself? Sound is like that. You are part of a team, trying your best to deliver excellence. To seamlessly support that most unique and precious thing, the performance. All while problem solving and working with the crew to overcome a multitude of obstacles often in new and challenging environments.

Simon is a friendly, professional location sound recordist, with a full broadcast-quality sound kit, and more than 13 years’ experience across Film, TV, Documentary and Commercials.

From 2005 to 2010 Simon was employed as an in-house sound recordist by The Bank, a Creative Communications agency whose clients included Coutts, Shell, Peroni, O2, Nokia, and Disney.

Simon went freelance at the end of 2010 and has continued to work with such household names as The BBC, Google, SKY, Barclays, and Microsoft. Member of Institute for Professional Sound (IPS)
